Main Features:
* Find all Chinese phrases that rhymes with a certain word.
* All results ordered according to character frequency list of modern Chinese language.
* Dictionary provided by MBDG, consisting of nearly 100K entries.

This application is ideal for Chinese lyricists, poem writers or your normal student who just wants to learn more Chinese characters!

It allows anyone to find words and characters that rhymes using hanyu pinyin, phonetic for the Chinese Language.

The Red Rider

Main Features:

Red Rider is a 3rd person shooter game which involves a group of 6 members. I was part of the UI team, responsible for implementing the user interfaces and sourcing for audio

This game expands on the original classic fairytale – Little Red Riding Hood. In our adaption, the story to cover what happens after the event. After the traumatizing event of being nearly eaten by the wolf, the Hunter took Red Riding Hood in as a disciple and taught her the art of handling the shotgun. After years of training, she finally mastered the weapon and later added the Machine Gun and Sniper into her arsenal.

Ten years after the horrific incident, she returns to her homeland as the “Red Rider” to protect other little girls visiting their grandmas.

Oaktree Odyssey

A major project involving 7 members, Oaktree Odyssey is an overhead 2D adventure/puzzle game suitable for all ages. It aims to create awareness about deforestation and its effects on the environment, in line with the 2010 Imagine Cup theme.

Player will take on the role the forest guardian who will try to disrupt the Evil Industrial Company operation with the ultimate goal of chasing them out of the forest.

The evil corporation employees, each with their unique characteristics and abilities, will be the major obstacles the player will face. The player must circumvent obstacles using quick fingers, and cleverly create distractions at opportune moments in order to fulfill the unique objective of each level.

Virtual House

A virtual reality house developed using the “Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML)”, and its function based extension FVRML. The house consist of various touch sensor, proximity sensor, as well as various shapes and patterns defined using implicit and parametric functions. Objects are organized hierarchically with level of detail (LOD) implemented for complex objects.

Royalty free models/textures from PlaceBuilder are used, as well as self-created models using 3DMax.

24 Challenge

The “24 Challenge” is a mathematical game in which the objective is to a find a way to manipulate 4 numbers using the 4 basic mathematical operators to form the final result of 24. Click here for the wiki entry.

This is a game which requires fast thinking and the ability to spot patterns among the numbers. It is also good training for mental calculations, and this application recreates the actual game where the user must go against the clock and beat the high scores.

This is the first ever application I made using the C# Language together with 3 other members.

Elevator Simulation

A simple Elevator Simulation that provide familiarization in using Java for various Software Systems and Models concepts such as: Event source & object, event queue, event registration, handling & listening.

The elevator will travel in between the floors in an optimized manner (proceed based on passengers waiting on floors). Speed of the elevator can be adjusted and basic threading techniques are used.

Powersta Warehouse Management

This is a medium scale project together with 4 other members in order to create a warehouse management system based on the principles of software engineering.

The team has to go through the proper and standard software development cycle of anlysis, design and development by creating “use cases”, “conceptual diagrams”, “sequence diagrams” as well as detailed “software requirements specifications”.

The entire site is coded using “Object Oriented PHP” language.

Thanks to the many sources of help I’ve recieved, The Bluff Mutliplayer is finally done!

This can be considered the first “expansion” I did for a game!

Bluff Multiplayer incorporates everything from the original Bluff Single Player with more goodies, including 2 new avatars together with winning screens, a fast mode for expert players and a brand new Bluff executable icon!
